The Plate of Gergovie is localised at a few minutes only of the town
of Clermont-Ferrand, in the department of Puy-de-Dome, the Auvergne
area. The site is with a height of approximately 750 meters. The Plate
of Gergovie is appeared as a 1500 m length basaltic table on 500 m
broad. Since the Plate of Gergovie, one can benefit from a sight to
cut the breath giving on the town of Clermont-Ferrand, the Chain of
Puys, the Solid mass of Sancy, the Mounts of Cézallier, the Valley To

The site of the plate of Gergovie built its reputation on the battle

Put aside the House of Gergovie, there also exists of other remarkable
curiosities like the villages of vine growers, limestone cliff called
the White Rock, basalt cliff called the Black Rock, the limestone
Virgin of Veyre-Monton, the city of the Forts of Sauvetat or
Mirefleurs, the old village nested in edge Allier.
In the historical and cultural register, it is necessary to mention
Averniales, a demonstration which is classified in the category of the
archéo-festivals. It is held, year after year, on the Plate of
Gergovie and more precisely within the oppidum of Gergovie. During two
days, local actors reconstitute the past, carry out experiments of an
archaeological nature and propose within this framework of the
spectacles telling the history which was held a long ago of that.
The Plate of Gergovie accomodates each year of the cultural events
worthy of interest. Initially, there is Cervolix, an event which
invites every year impassioned kite to devote itself to their favorite
activity. With each edition, tens of cervolists answer the invitation,
carrying with them hundreds of kites. It is also necessary to mention
the participants who come with their radio controlled air crafts which
carry out impressive stunt-flyings in the airs. Existing since the
year 1995, Cervolix is a demonstration which meets, edition after
edition, an increasing success. In more of the reduced models, there
are also the models natural size. The public can benefit from
unforgettable voyages on board a montgolfier, a private plane and more
interesting still, on board a plane of stunt-flying. This last
category of apparatus is available since the edition 2008.
For better preparing a stay in the heart of the Plate of Gergovie, it
